Don't even read the text if you don't want to. I couldn't post comments until now because the storm kicked me the eff off schedule, but no one else had anything to say? Please, if you really love me then take a peek. That's all I ask.

Aside from being cutely drawn, it's powerful and makes perfect common sense. Which is precisely why the sentiment would be ignored by an overwhelmingly-vast segment of the population. ;)

I guess it can't be helped... society as we know it today is a fast conglomeration of mental prisons specifically designed to cut us off spiritually from our own potential. Let this message meant for women be a message to be shared by all. ^^

First off, thanks for chiming in on her picture and replying to me as well, especially since "we just met" and all that. I actually wrote my comments while far from home at a convention but didn't have time to keep up; the con started a nearly two-week string of problems that had me in a state of yuck made me overreact at least in my tone. (Certain politicians recently spouting off very dangerous ideological arguments regarding women may have been a factor too.) Maybe it didn't come across that way (and I hope it didn't and maybe I shouldn't even suggest that ;)) but either way I appreciate your comments.

haha,... I do have you on my watch list, so we've had to have met before at some point -- although you're right, I don't remember where and when. Oh but who cares, this is DA... talking with total strangers is both okay and encouraged and fun. :)

[and I get them all the time,... although half of them solicit me for points, hehe... ^^; ]

Eep, I wonder if those certain politicians were certain media-picked presidents in waiting for a certain country whose election day was yesterday? Granted I'm usually disgusted enough by their foreign policy rhetoric to be able to stomach much else after that, so sorry to say I hadn't quite noticed (although surely wouldn't have been surprised.

I do hate when my friends lament that there are never any women running for president, kind of kowtowing with the assumption that the certain president for this certain country must be either blue or red. At least for those who made it to the ballot, last election we had a strong woman by the name of Cynthia McKinney, and in this one we had Jill Stein. The latter actually got arrested as some nobody for trying to participate in one of the electoral debates. Under normal circumstances it would have caused an outrage, but as long as the media was silent it simply never happened. A powerful form of mind control as I ever saw, truly.

But back to the point at hand, I wouldn't be afraid to suggest anything -- you certainly would want to be like the woman in the painting. Just be who you are, or at least respect what you'd like to be.

Succinct as usual. :)appreciate you taking a look even when it was just me having an exhaustion-based mini-rant. Maybe I've been reading "too many" gender studies books (never too many if they're focused on moving forward instead of blame), and seeing no comments on something that had moved me just flipped the right bit at the right time.

It happens, it happens. Life is a game of chance and oft times good is ignored because ok was lucky.

This is what I commented him

If only more women followed up instead of trying too hard to keep up with, you know, fashion and all other expectations society has imposed them. I really don't like when someone, woman or man, does something just to impress others while neglecting themselves.

For example, a given girl might dress in the latest fashions to impress everybody, but might not really like it despite her outfit being featured in all the store fronts, magazines, and the like and her looking great on it.

Not sure if this is the message you try to deliver but it's the way I see it and the first thing that came to my mind. Very interesting BTW :)

It also applies to men, especially on how we dress. For example, if it weren't because of my job and and the rare formal event here and there, I wouldn't wear shirts at all. If there are guys who feel comfortable dressing like that all the time, even out of the two situations I'm pointing out, good for them. But that doesn't mean we all agree and should dress that way.

Thank you. I know this kind of sentiment is right up your alley. DUH-ME, even though I'd just commented on your Friendsies+10 piece, it didn't occur to me to note you directly as well. :D

Thanks for looking. I was a bit tired and out of it and, storm blah blah blah, took me a week to post. Seeing it empty hit me a little harder than it should of. Thanks for being patient with me. :)
