A few months ago I was chatting with an artist who shall not be named and I let slip that I was using one of his quick 5-minute sketches for inking practice. NO! That will never do!

Since I only inked it seemed more fair to show the inking steps before showing his coloring at the end. As you can see, I simply ink a bunch of separated lines first, then do some intersecting lines on the next layer; merge and repeat. The joints and corners come out much better, plus accidental erasing is tough because all of the finished nearby lines are on a different layer.
For the time it took me I figured it was worth posting, plus you get to see the unnamed artist's great finishing job too.
Or, as you've probably guessed, just part of the finished piece. I'll try to make the whole thing, without the animation, available somewhere appropriate.
