I was just sort-of doodling one day and decided to make a "mood piece" based on the comic that I'd just commissioned. I had a ruler with me but for some reason eschewed it in place of eyeballing everything. The perspective seemed pretty good... until I drew those two photographs on the floor.
BTW, the guy I hired, "Laser Squirrel" or LS or Elless (Bill Schoneck of Love's Park, IL) ran off with half the money nearly two years ago. The comic will never be made now.
It is a Fairly OddParents fanfic about overcoming a difficult past, lots of heartache and hurt: Timmy gets one girl with a really bad past to help another girl who's experiencing the same thing now. The story was also supposed to answer the biggest question about the series. It's been tugging at my heart for at least five years and I was really hoping to bring it to life graphically rather than just write it. I actually see the key moments etched in my mind with this story.
However, when I was scripting the comic itself I did a lot of trimming. There's no room for fluff when I'm paying by the page, so keeping a three-act story down to 30 pages is a lot less expensive than letting it run on forever. Now when planning plain fanfics I pretend that I'm paying (myself) by the page and that helps me keeping all of my stories fairly trim.
Maybe I'll just write it anyway. It's about darned time.
Originally I figured it would be too strong for dA, even with appropriate warnings, but now I'm starting to consider doing what I did with "Lost Embrace" and focus much more on the characters.
It really helped that over the weekend I saw a lot of feedback on something else that I'd written, mostly about how the emotions and interactions were even more enjoyable than the "stimulating" parts. Most of my fanfics are lemons (which is why I don't even mention them on dA), and to compel those readers to comment on story and character development instead of just the "fun parts" was high praise in my book. Or maybe I'm just getting worse at writing the naughty bits.
So maybe I'll put it on the front burner... once I finish two other stories that have been on my plate for quite a while.
Yes, I hope that my saucy writing isn't getting worse but instead that my expressive writing is just getting better.
Even though this particular story has been trimmed and is scripted already, I'll need a massive amount of mental energy to start writing it. A lot needs to re-imagined so it can be told through words. The subject matter is a bit "strong" for me emotionally too.
Also, I need to finish up two other stories: a scary Ruby Gloom tale that's close to completion (two chapters up, one to go) and then a Phineas and Ferb story that's been left alone for way too long (seven and two). However, they're both very Rule 34... and kind of on the dark side as well.
Hmm... Maybe I need to stop and write a happier story in-between my big scary and emotionally charged ones.
Happy is good. I hope that's what kind of week you have.
Well, some go up, some go down, or something like that XD I haven't been as happy as I'd like to. But thank you for the thoughtful wishes. I hope you are really having happy days!

And I thank you for your support.
